Public Service Boards and FreeTimePays - delivering positive social impact across Wales

Public Service Boards have a major role to play in the engagement of communities, the collaboration of service providers and the provision of services that meet community need. FreeTimePays as a digital engagement channel and as a space for collaborative working has teamed up with PSBs across Wales to ensure local communities have access to the most advanced tools for delivering positive social impact.

FreeTimePays has produced a unique channel for the engagement of people across Wales, the collaboration of service providers and the delivery of positive social impact. Public Service Boards are ideal partners and we have teamed up with PSBs across Wales to provide the tools required.

FreeTimePays is an on-the-go engagement solution that can be accessed on all devices from mobiles to laptops.

FreeTimePays.wales (.cymru) is a digital space devoted to creating positive social impact across Wales by engaging people (and organisations) in shared Welsh passions. All of this supports community cohesion and promotes a greater sense of social responsibility.

Let us show what we have created and how, as a PSB, you can take forward and deliver successful engagement across your community.

We have engaged with a large and active community and we have a successful and growing campaign underway using social media delivered nationally via ItsyourWales.

Tap into the engaged community we are growing and let's grow one for you and your PSB.

We are all about making a difference and helping people who share passions and make a difference for themselves, for their family and within their community.

For people who get involved, share passions and help make a difference, the option exists to run a form of gamification that rewards people and recognises the time they are prepared to put in.

ItsYourWales is a national engagement channel that has been running since 2016. Those people engaging with ItsyourWales and the community which has been built and is growing is accessible to Public Service Boards.

Over 20 passions are promoted at ItsYourWales and ItsYourWales can be scaled to engage with people at a regional or local community level.

In October  2015, at the time we commenced the design and build phase of FreeTimePays, a twitter account was set up in order to build a community of passion across Wales.

@itsyourWales has quickly become the most popular account of its type on twitter, achieving almost 1M impressions every month, with a following that’s increasing at 1K every month.

ItsYourWales and a growing number of engagement sites across Wales are already being powered by FreeTimePays digital technology.

FreeTimePays is a unique social media channel and collaborative environment and is the result of 18 months design & build.

FreeTimePays satisfies the demand of social media users for a space that provides a variety of functions that, up until now, has only been possible by combining different social media channels.

Community Passport gives people their own personalised space where they can demonstrate their passion, engage in activities and collect points for sharing passions.

Community Workspace is a secure access rights environment where people can work on their  projects (alone or with others) and make a positive impact within their community.

Community Matchmaker exists so that champions of great ideas can take their idea and their passion to the next level. They can share and collaborate with other people on their great ideas.

They can consider and access alternative funding channels. The idea can even be packaged and a pitch prepared giving project access to investors, philanthropists, the lottery and/or crowd-funders.

People, communities and stakeholders can choose to interact with the FreeTimePays platform and make use of the digital space in many different ways.

Gamification is a key feature of the FreeTimePays digital space and is flexible and adaptable. Should a PSB decide to run with some form of gamification and reward and recognise people for helping to make a difference, then this can be designed and introduced to suit the PSB and community.

This is only the start of our journey. The digital journey we have mapped out embraces all that’s new and engaging. Come on the journey with us, help us grow communities of influence, create real and positive impact and generate the return and reward from being one of our partners in Wales.

The Animal Wall at Cardiff Castle

If you are visiting Cardiff Castle it's worth walking along the wall towards the entrance to Bute Park and having a look at the wonderful masonry sculptures of various exotic animals that appear to be sat, stood and climbing over the parapet.

It is called the 'Animal Wall' and was designed by William Burges and completed by William Frame in 1892. There were nine original animals and six more were added after World War One.
